1/31/17-Great Rivers Greenway Welcomes Angelica Gutierrez as Project Manager

Great Rivers Greenway is pleased to welcome Angelica Gutierrez, of North St. Louis County, to its team of professionals who are working to connect the St. Louis region through the development of greenways so people can live life outside. Gutierrez has joined as Project Manager, overseeing all aspects of greenway construction projects, from community engagement to design and construction. She will also coordinate the organization’s involvement in the Gateway Bike Plan, which aims to identify the regional system of on-street bikeways and develop strategies for education, encouragement, and enforcement to make bicycling safe for people of all ages and abilities.

As an industrial engineer, she brings to Great Rivers Greenway nearly 16 years of experience in project management, including a background in public works and production management. Her prior experience includes nine years with the City of University City, where she most recently held the position of Senior Public Works Manager. During her time there, Gutierrez oversaw the city’s locally and federally funded transportation projects. These efforts included streetscapes, bridge replacement, street and sidewalk repair and maintenance, bicycle facilities and traffic signal installation projects.

Her background also includes time spent as a production manager for a fashion manufacturer, where she was tasked with optimizing process flow and labor efficiencies. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de America in Bogotá, Colombia.

Gutierrez’ skills will be put to good use as Great Rivers Greenway continues to expand and care for the more than 110-mile network of greenways in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County.

“Angelica’s experience as an industrial engineer and public works manager will be a wonderful addition to not just the project management team, but our entire organization,” said Todd Antoine, Great Rivers Greenway Director of Projects and Planning. “Her skills in managing transportation projects, contracts, permitting and easements will enhance our processes as we work with many partners to expand the network of greenways in order to connect people to their rivers, parks and communities.”
