5/16/2016 – Community Living to host Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge on June 28

Following a brief break last year, Community Living’s Big Kahuna Bartender challenge will once again take place on June 28. Back by popular demand, the party will continue as Community Living staff and Board members battle it out behind the bar to raise funds for people with disabilities in St. Charles County. The team that earns the most funds will earn the coveted “Big Kahuna” title. Area residents are invited to come out and cheer for their favorite team during the event, which will take place on Tuesday, June 28, from 6-9 p.m. at Gettemeier’s, located at 269 Salt Lick Road in St. Peters.

During this year’s event, teams featuring Community Living staff and Board members will work for 90 minutes to raise the most money. Team members will use their bartending skills to earn tips, while also mingling with the crowd to personally encourage attendees to open their pocketbooks in support of Community Living. All proceeds, including tips and a $5 cover charge, will benefit Community Living’s programs, and the team that raises the most money will get the “Big Kahuna” title.

“We are so excited to host this event again this year,” said Barb Griffith, President and CEO of Community Living, Inc. “The stakes are high, and bragging rights are on the line! We encourage individuals from across St. Charles County to bring their families to Gettemeier’s in St. Peters for a night of good food, fun and entertainment for a great cause.”
