Delta Dental of Missouri is continuing its quest to improve the oral and overall health of Missourians by convening a group of nationally-renowned healthcare experts. These thought leaders bring unique insight and sound strategies for inspiring and sustaining healthy change among individuals, organizations and communities. The state’s leading dental benefits provider and champion of improving both oral health and overall health will host futureFOCUS2016 on Thursday, April 21 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ritz Carlton in Clayton. futureFOCUS2016 will feature speakers Joe Flower and Kathryn Gilliam, RDH, BA. Flower is a healthcare speaker, writer, consultant and premier observer and thought leader on the deep forces changing healthcare in the United States and around the world. With clients ranging from the World Health Organization, the Global Business Network and the U.K. National Health Service, to the majority of state hospital associations in the United States, Flower has explored the future of healthcare nationally and internationally and has written a new manual on how Americans can get better, less costly healthcare for their families, while revolutionizing the system at the same time. He is set to give the keynote address titled, “Healthcare 2017 and Beyond.” Those in attendance will also hear from Gilliam, who is an author, consultant and speaker who has spent 25 years on the front lines of early oral cancer detection as a clinical dental hygienist. She has more than 15 years of international coaching experience mentoring private dental practices to impact patient health through early cancer detection. She is set to discuss the dangers of oral inflammation in her presentation “The Fire Within – The Dangers of Oral Inflammation.”
