ST. LOUIS, Jan. 23, 2011…The Hauser Group recently announced that Crystal Lake, Ill., native Jenna Matzer has joined the firm as a spring intern. Working side by side with the company’s experienced team, Matzer will gain insight into the daily activities of a public relations agency.
Matzer is a senior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in Edwardsville, Ill., who will graduate this May with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in Psychology. For the past three years, Matzer has served as the public relations chairperson for the SIUE chapter of Up ‘til Dawn, a student organization dedicated to raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She also served as the publicity and advertising chairperson for the SIUE chapter of Alpha Phi International. During her time at SIUE, Matzer has taken extensive coursework in public relations and media writing.
Matzer will be joined this spring by Fall 2011 intern Katie Hamilton who will continue to work with the Hauser Group as a junior account executive. A senior at Saint Louis University (SLU), Hamilton will graduate this May with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. At SLU, Hamilton is involved as the vice president of SLU’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the president of Beyond All Reason, SLU’s all-female a cappella group. She has also taken extensive coursework in communication and public relations, including research, theory, journalism, public relations writing and international public relations.
