9/6/17 – Delta Dental of Missouri Donates $25,000 To ADA Foundation To Aid Dentists Impacted By Hurricane Harvey

To help meet the most urgent needs of dentists impacted by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath in Texas and across the Gulf Coast, Delta Dental of Missouri has donated $25,000 to the American Dental Association Foundation’s (ADAF) Emergency Disaster Grant Program. The program is designed to provide support of up to $2,000 to eligible dentists for personal needs, including food, water, clothing, shelter, medicine and toiletries. Any dentist affected by a disaster may apply for an Emergency Disaster Grant within 60 days of the disaster, using the application at ADAFoundation.org.

“Seeing the magnitude of the devastation compels each of us to help those in need,” said Delta Dental of Missouri’s president and CEO, Rob Goren. “The ADA Foundation’s Emergency Disaster Grants are a godsend to dentists who’ve weathered the storm, and we’re proud to lend our support to help provide aid to them.”

The American Dental Association estimates that 3,850 dentists are in the affected areas of Texas alone.

“It’s heartening to know that these grants will help fellow dentists as they work to get back on their feet, and ultimately, back to normal in treating patients at their practices,” said Delta Dental of Missouri’s chairman of its Board of Directors and practicing dentist, Robert E. Butler, DDS. “We encourage others to make contributions to the ADA Foundation as well, so each and every dentist affected by the disaster can benefit from this assistance.”
