4/14/2017-WGU Missouri Offers Scholarships for Those Who Make “Today Their Someday”

WGU Missouri is offering an added incentive for busy adults to stop dreaming about getting a bachelor’s or master’s degree and instead start working toward accomplishing their dreams. Students who apply to WGU Missouri by June 30, 2017, are eligible to apply for the Today Is Your Someday Scholarship, which provides up to $2,000 per student.

The “Today Is Your Someday” Scholarship will be applied at the rate of $500 per six-month term, renewable for up to four terms, toward WGU Missouri’s already low tuition of about $3,000 per term for most programs. Students enrolling in any of WGU Missouri’s 60 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are eligible to apply for the scholarship. WGU Missouri will also waive the $65 application fee for all scholarship applicants who apply by June 30, 2017. To waive the fee, applicants should enter the code TODAY on the payment page of their application.

WGU Missouri uses an innovative approach to learning called competency-based education, which focuses on measuring learning rather than time spent in class. Students earn their degrees by demonstrating mastery of the subject matter they need to be successful – real-world competencies developed in collaboration with employers.

Designed to meet the needs of adult learners, competency-based education allows students to take advantage of their knowledge and experience to move quickly through material they already know so they can focus on what they still need to learn. WGU Missouri faculty members work one-on-one with students as mentors, offering guidance, support and individualized instruction. While WGU Missouri’s degree programs are rigorous and challenging, competency-based learning makes it possible for students to accelerate their progress, saving both time and money.

This scholarship is open to new WGU Missouri students who have been officially admitted to WGU Missouri. While multiple scholarships will be awarded, it is a competitive program. Scholarships will be awarded based on the candidate’s academic record, readiness for online study, and current competency, as well as other considerations.
