01/27/14 – The Gardens at Malmaison to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Pre-Fixe Dinner and Other Festivities

The Gardens at Malmaison in St. Albans, Mo., will be buzzing with activity during Valentine’s Day weekend, as the venue hosts an elegant five-course pre-fixe dinner on Valentine’s Day, welcomes children and their parents for a high tea on Saturday, Feb. 15, and wraps up the weekend with an Italian-themed “Plenilunio Amore” dinner buffet on Saturday evening.

Couples looking to celebrate their love with a gourmet meal in a romantic atmosphere are encouraged to make reservations now to spend Valentine’s Day evening at The Gardens at Malmaison. On Feb. 14, reservations will be available between 6:00 and 8:45 p.m. That evening, the venue will offer a five-course pre-fixe dinner featuring crab and shrimp cocktail, poached pear salad, blood orange sorbet, carved roast tenderloin of beef and dessert for a cost of $57 per person. For those interested in extending their Valentine’s Day experience in St. Albans, overnight accommodations are available at The Gardens at Malmaison’s adjacent property, The Studio Inn at St. Albans. The beautifully renovated, circa 1900, stone mansion features six guestrooms with stunning views of the Missouri River. Valentine’s Day weekend rates for The Studio Inn range from $175 – $195 for Friday stays and $195 – $225 for Saturday stays. Nightly room rates include a bottle of wine and breakfast. On Saturday, Feb. 15, parents and their children are invited to attend a “Mom, Dad and Me High Tea” at The Gardens at Malmaison. For a cost of $8 per child and $12 per adult, families will enjoy tea and a variety of high tea-themed sandwiches including cucumber, radish and sprout, pimento cheese and endive, Roquefort cheese, shaved red grapes and pea shoot sprouts, grilled cheese, cucumber and buttered bread, peanut butter and jelly and strawberry and cream cheese. The menu will also include a selection of pastries and sweets including assorted cookies, chocolate tarts and Valentine JELL-O. Two events will be held on Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations are required and should be made by Feb. 11.

Lovers of Italian cuisine can indulge their taste buds on the evening of Feb. 15 at The Gardens at Malmaison’s Plenilunio Amore Dinner. The buffet-style meal will feature a variety of traditional Italian favorites including Boursin stuffed mushrooms, parmesan rounds, classic Italian salad, tenderloin of beef skewers with tomatoes and parsley sauce, crab and ricotta Cannelloni, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Italian roasted vegetables, Cannoli and Italian spritzer. The event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., for a cost of $39 per person. Reservations are required.
