12/30/13 – Community Living, Inc. to Host Big Kahuna “Raise the Bar” Challenge

For 10 years in a row, Community Living, Inc.’s (CLI) Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge (CLI) has been one of the biggest summer fundraising parties in St. Charles County. This year, the event is changing seasons, but the party will be bigger and better than ever, as individual bartenders and bartending teams join forces in the Big Kahuna “Raise the Bar” Challenge to generate $13,000 for Community Living. Area residents are invited to join the festivities, which will take place Thursday, January 23, at Side Pockets, located at 1439 Bass Pro Dr. in St. Charles.

The event will kick off with a VIP hour starting at 5 p.m. For $20, VIPs will receive admission into the event, a beverage ticket, appetizers, reserved seating and more. Following the VIP hour, volunteer teams and individuals   will work to collectively raise $13,000, with all proceeds, including tips and the $5 cover charge, benefiting Community Living’s life-enriching programs and services for people with disabilities in St. Charles County. The party will continue until 9 p.m., when the top fundraising team and top performing individual will be recognized.

“The evening gives individuals the opportunity to party with friends, while supporting a great cause,” said Barbara James, Annual Giving Coordinator for Community Living. “There will be games and activities along with great food and drinks. We are asking party-goers to grab their Hawaiian attire, snow boots and wallets to help us ‘Raise the Bar’ for individuals with disabilities in St. Charles County.”
