ST. LOUIS, Jan. 23, 2013… The Hauser Group today announced that Mirela Muftarevic of Oakville, Mo., and Lindy Noel of Taylorville, Ill., have joined the firm as interns for the spring semester. The women will spend the next few months working alongside the firm’s team of account executives to gain valuable insight into the daily activities within a public relations firm.
A senior at Webster University, Muftarevic will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a minor in international human rights. Prior to joining the Hauser Group, she spent three months working as Communications and Development Intern with the International Institute of St. Louis. Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muftarevic and her family were forced to flee their home due to the war and genocide that struck her country. Realizing the great lengths her parents took to secure a bright future for her and her brother, Muftarevic is dedicated to achieving career success. Looking to the future, she hopes to use her background in human rights and PR to open her own organization for human rights awareness.
Noel is a graduate student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) pursuing her master’s in public administration with a focus on non-profit administration. Having also completed her undergraduate work at SIUE, Noel possesses a bachelor’s degree in speech communication with a minor in dance performance. Prior to joining The Hauser Group, Noel gained experience in public relations working as a PR/events intern with the SIUE Office of Alumni Affairs, and as a Special Programs Assistant/Graduate Intern with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Bureau of Air. In addition to her current internship with The Hauser Group, she holds a position as a Development & Communications Graduate Assistant with the SIUE School of Business. Looking to the future, Noel hopes to put her skills to work in an arts-oriented non-profit organization.
