8/20/12 – Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois Welcomes Two New Members

Edwardsville, Ill., Aug. 20, 2012… The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois is pleased to announce the addition of Northwestern Mutual and the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois (RASI) to its growing list of members. Representatives from these two companies will join other leaders in the business, industry, labor, education and government sectors to encourage business investment and development in Southwestern Illinois.

Representing Northwestern Mutual on the Council is Chris Lowery. With an office in Belleville, Chris serves as a wealth management advisor and managing director with the Lowery Group at Northwestern, and he has been with the company since 1995. He specializes in annuities, business planning analysis, comprehensive financial planning, disability income insurance, education planning, employee benefits, estate planning, executive benefits, investment services, long-term care insurance, mutual funds, personal life insurance and retirement plans services. Northwestern Mutual was founded in 1857 to help clients achieve financial security and has offices all over the U.S., including several in the St. Louis area.

Deb Treat Frazier will be representing the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois on the Leadership Council. She has been the association executive at RASI for a little over a year. She previously worked as the executive director of the Multiple Listing Service in Southwestern Illinois for five years and managing broker for Prudential One in Edwardsville for seven years. Located in Belleville, RASI is a voluntary trade association that works to protect the rights of private property owners by recommending and promoting legislation that safeguards and advances the interest of real property ownership. The organization has over 700 members who are engaged in all facets of the real estate industry.  RASI primarily serves the Metro East market area, including St. Clair, Monroe, Randolph and Clinton counties.

The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois is a member-based, economic development organization that has worked for more than 25 years to attract/retain jobs and stimulate capital investment through its coalition of leaders in business, industry, labor, education and government. These effective partnerships have served as a driving force behind a number of successful regional economic development efforts. The Leadership Council also publishes the annual Market Review & Investment Update, which chronicles the total value of projects announced, under construction or completed each year in Madison and St. Clair counties, with the 2011 edition showing nearly $6 billion in investments.
