4/24/12 – World Championship Trophy Returns To Busch Stadium For Regular Season

Official wireless sponsor of the Cardinals, U.S. Cellular, offering free photos with the trophy at 2012 home games, superior wireless experience for fans and host of other great fan experiences

ST. LOUIS, MO., APRIL 24, 2012 –  On the heels of the recently completed whirlwind World Championship Trophy Tour, during which 17,279 of the best fans in baseball had a rare opportunity to see and take a photo with the 2011 World Championship Trophy, U.S. Cellular is pleased to announce that Cardinal Nation will have additional opportunities to access a piece of Cardinals’ history.  Having made more than 50 stops since the tour kicked off in early January, the Trophy is now back on display at Busch Stadium at the U.S. Cellular Clubhouse located by Ford Plaza inside the stadium. Fans are invited to stop by during any home game during the 2012 season to see the trophy up close and get a photo taken with it for free, courtesy of U.S. Cellular.

A host of other great fan experiences also are available inside the stadium as a result of the partnership between the St. Louis Cardinals and U.S. Cellular, the team’s official wireless sponsor.  With its own cell tower and distributed antenna system located inside Busch Stadium, U.S. Cellular has the capacity for fans’ calls, messages and e-mails to go through on its high-speed nationwide network featuring the highest call quality and network satisfaction of any national carrier.

“U.S. Cellular is proud to be the official wireless provider of the St. Louis Cardinals, and our commitment to ensuring a strong network for Cards fans this season is just one of the reasons we have the happiest customers in wireless,” notes Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Missouri.   “When  customers are  watching the game, they will enjoy a superior wireless experience whether they want to call or text a friend, post updates to Facebook or send a picture to share their experience.”

For those watching the game with young kids or tweens, many of those memorable experiences take place at the U.S. Cellular Family Pavilion, a hidden treasure at Busch Stadium that gives fans a unique baseball experience for little or no additional cost. Inside the Pavilion, fans can practice their swing in the batting cages or brush up on their fastball in the speed pitch challenge. Gamers can play the MLB 2K12 video game on one of 11 video consoles, while young Cardinals fans can have a ball playing in the T-Ball cages or in the soft-play area.

The separate U.S. Cellular Clubhouse, where the World Championship Trophy is on display, offers even more fun for the family. Using an interactive light board called Vision Coach, fans are able to test their skill level using the same hand/eye coordination workout that professional athletes use while earning cool prizes.  Fans also have the opportunity through QR technology to download an exclusive ringtone of the Cardinals World Championship victory.   Fans can also check out the cutting-edge devices that U.S. Cellular offers, such as the Galaxy S II, which is being offered for $199.99 and is great for web browsing and keeping up with baseball news and scores during games.

The U.S. Cellular MVP Deck, a premium, all-inclusive seating area located on the northeast corner of the stadium, also provides fans with one of the best views in the house.
